Hello
Welcome to the AIM website where you will find an abundance of resources, contacts and practical advice for independent record labels.
2009 was a big year for us here at AIM, it was our 10th anniversary! And boy what a year it was - we celebrated the second annual Independents Day, hosted members events on marketing, digital, international and media networking, and asked our members to decide our future agenda by presenting 10 'Big Ideas' at our AGM.
We hope 2010 will be a great year for independent music, and look forward to continuing to work with all of our members and friends to help their businesses thrive.
So welcome to the AIM website; whether you are a member or just interested in AIM and independent music, we hope you find our website an interesting and valuable resource.

Label of the Month
Our label of the month is Wichita Recordings!
Mark Bowen's Wichita Recordings is one of the most prolific young independent record labels in the world right now. Being a label with a catalogue that has no musical boundaries has enabled Wichita to reach out to a wide audience.
In a year where one of the label's most recognised acts, Bloc Party, released the remix follow up for their fantastic 'Intimacy' album, many of the label's other bands have seen acclaim from fans, press and industry alike.
After recruiting Johnny Marr of The Smith's fame to play guitar, The Cribs have released their 'Ignore The Ignorant' album to high scoring reviews in all major press. The music buying public also agreed, shooting the band to number 8 in the UK album charts. The band are currently on a full international tour.
Another of the label's most acclaimed new acts, Mariachi El Bronx, traditional Mexican side project of LA hardcore stalwats The Bronx, have been making waves with their eponymous new album. The band played on the main stage at Reading festival and completing numerous UK and US tours, including a main support slot for The Killers. The band seal off their year with a placing in Q Magazine's top 50 albums of 2009.
So whether you are looking for your latest post-punk fix, or a slice of Mariachi influenced sunshine music head over to Wichita's site to discover their roster and possibly discover your favourite new band.
