 MEMBERSHIP COSTSYou are eligible to be a member if you are a recording company or distribution company with a base in the UK. This means you own copyright in sound recordings, or distribute recordings. There are more details in our terms and conditions. Record company membership £100 + VAT – Joining fee in first year £120 + VAT – subsequent years (commencing January of the year after you join) Record companies pay an annual membership subscription of 10% of their PPL income (you should join Phonographic Performance Limited so that you can collect your income from the broadcast of your recordings, and we can collect this subscription). The reduced fee for record companies is because PPL income is very small for many labels. At £10 per month, we think this will represent great value for the smallest independent record companies. Distribution company membership Distributors pay an annual membership subscription of £750 +VAT. Friends of AIM Companies providing services and products to the music industry £1,050 + VAT p.a.
