Death to CD Promo! - Discussion Paper by Gavin O'Shea, Lo Recordings

At AIM's AGM in July 2009, members voted in favour of AIM supporting an industry-wide move away from CD promos, as proposed by Gavin O'Shea of Lo Recordings. This idea made a lot of sense to attending labels, as it is better for the environment and could save labels a lot of money.

AIM MEMBERSHIP SURVEY 2007 RESULTS

The UK's independent sector is diverse, creative and entrepreneurial, the largest and most innovative in the world. Last month AIM conducted its first Annual Membership Survey, canvassing members about their companies and where they require support.

The results revealed some key trends and interesting facts about the UK independent music sector, which employs thousands of people and - as the figures demonstrate - makes a significant contribution to the UK economy.

UK MUSIC OFFICE IN THE USA REPORT (2004) - 'MAKE OR BREAK - SUPPORTING UK MUSIC IN THE USA'

The UK Music Office report commissioned by AIM and co-authored by Doug D'Arcy (Songlines, AIM Board member and former president of Chrysalis and Dedicated Records) and Paul Brindley (consultant and musician), it investigates reasons for the UK's plummeting market share in the US and combines a mix of interviews with industry experts and practitioners, and industry surveys.
