AIM 2019 – Key dates for our 20th anniversary year

From the AIM Independent Music Awards to our partnership with Digital Catapult and AIM House, our first ever independent hub at The Great Escape, 2018 has been a blockbuster year for AIM and the independent music community. Take a look back at some of the highlights here.


2019 will mark our 20th anniversary, and we’ve got a huge raft of activity planned to celebrate two decades of championing independent music. From the first ever outing of our new flagship event AIM Connected to a huge AIM Independent Music Awards taking place at the legendary Roundhouse, there’s lots to look forward to. AIM Sync – 28 January 2019

We are proud to introduce AIM’s brand-new international sync licensing conference AIM Sync. Taking place in London’s famous Barbican Centre, the full day conference will feature future-facing topics, interactive sessions and expert insight on the latest developments in sync across the worlds of film, gaming, TV, advertising, branding and more.


AIM Connected – 1 – 3 April 2019

AIM Connected is the brand new three-day conference connecting music, tech and people. This new flagship event will offer unrivalled insight on the future of music in the digital world, combining AIM’s Indie-Con, Music Connected and Women In Music events into one all new landmark conference.


AIM House – 9 – 11 May

AIM House is a home and hub for independents at The Great Escape. Following the success of its inaugural outing at the in 2018, AIM House is returning in 2019 for another year packed full of interviews, workshops, after-parties, networking and more.

AIM Awards – 3 September 2019

In AIM’s 20th year we are excited to be taking the AIM Awards to the prestigious Roundhouse. Now in its ninth year, the AIM Awards proudly shines a light on the incredible talent in the independent sector. The ceremony boasts a uniquely diverse list of nominees and winners and is a true celebration of the independent community.
