Learn the essentials of landing a sync deal ahead of AIM’s annual Sync Licensing to TV, Ads, Film & Games conference!
AIM today announces details of the next event in its ‘AIM Academy 101s’ series, aimed at equipping self-releasing artists and start-up labels with the knowledge they need to succeed in key business areas. ‘Sync Licensing 101’ will take place at London’s Tileyard Studios on Wednesday 1st November, offering attendees the chance to learn how to land sync deals for their music, and how those deals are structured.
In a business where streaming revenues can be miniscule for new artists, getting a track synced to a TV show, advert, video game or film can be vital both for revenue and developing a fanbase. One great sync deal can bankroll a band for months, and propel an act into the limelight. Sync Licensing 101 is the perfect event for any artist or label looking to make their first moves into the world of sync.
The event will comprise of two workshop style presentations. First, Simon Pursehouse, Director of Music Services at Sentric Music will present “How To Land A Sync Deal in 9 Easy Steps”, guiding you through everything to need to know in order to make your tunes as attractive as possible to Music Supervisors around the world. Then, Megan Bean, Head of Business Affairs, Licensing and Sync at Hospital Records will present “Breaking Down The Sync Deal”, looking in detail at how sync deals are structured, typical contractual elements and fees. There will be time afterwards for questions and 1-2-1s with both speakers, plus networking drinks.
Sync Licensing 101 precedes AIM’s annual Sync Licensing to TV, Ads, Film & Games conference, which will return later in November, equipping those who attend with the background knowledge to successfully approach Music Supervisors and make the most of the main conference.
The event takes place from 5.15-8.30pm on Wednesday 1st November at Unit 5 Tileyard Studios, Tileyard Rd, Kings Cross, London N7 9AH.
Tickets are available now, costing £25+VAT for AIM members, and £55+VAT for non members, with discounts for affiliated organisations and students (refreshments included).
