The annual Inverness-based XpoNorth festival, until 2014 known as goNORTH, is Scotland’s leading creative industries festival.
A hot-bed of creative activity, XpoNorth takes place over two exciting and energising days and nights in the Highland capital of Inverness. The only festival of its kind in Scotland coveringmusic; screen & broadcast; crafts, fashion and textiles; writing and publishing.
XpoNorth is held in venues across the city of Inverness. By day, XpoNorth hosts a packed programme of more than 25 panels and workshops featuring leading industry players in the fields of crafts, publishing, screen, music and more. By night, it offers a beguiling blend of Highland hospitality in the form of relaxed networking events, coupled with a free music showcase in intimate venues and a curated short film programme. All of this is free to access.
Managed by former goNORTH Festival music producer, Alex Smith, with Ironworks Group directors and Caroline Campbell. It has been established as the new Music Industry Network for the Highlands and Islands and is delivered by Ironworks Group. Last year’s festival showcase schedule in Inverness included much-lauded emerging artists such as Neon Waltz, Baby Strange, Ella The Bird, Hector Bizerk and Broken Records.
