During this inaugural event Metropolis will open its famous doors and offer access to studios and more importantly the world class team of engineers at vastly reduced rate for a fixed three week period to a select group of emerging artists either signed to an independent label or those close to securing deals as identified by partners The PRS Foundation.
Artists who wish to apply to access the studios and award winning engineering talent at greatly reduced rates should download the form on Metropolis’ website and return to firstname.lastname@example.org by 8th November. A team from Metropolis and its partner’s will consult and select the artists who they feel will gain the most from the experience and opportunity offered by the Festival. All successful applicants will be notified by 30th November and dates will be offered at that time.
Artists selected for the festival can hire the studio’s at a 70% discount on the daily rate, a rate that includes studio hire, engineer and assistant costs. In addition, Metropolis has partnered with the cornerstone of the British vinyl record manufacturing industry The Vinyl Factory (Hayes) to offer an exclusive discount for the artists involved in the festival to enjoy discounted manufacture rates on vinyl and CD production.
Metropolis has partnered with industry giants AIM, BMI, AIM, Pledge, PRS Foundation, Record of the Day and The Vinyl Factory to create the festival. “This is a really exciting opportunity for Metropolis to discover and support new talent,” says Sam Wheat - Chief Engineer, Metropolis. Festival organiser Tamsin McLarty adds ‘ We have been an established studio for over 23 years and feel strongly that the time is right to support the extraordinary talent that exists across the country’ says Tamsin McLarty of Metropolis. ‘Our engineers are excited by the prospect of working with new talent as we believe this this shared experience will be mutually beneficial. This festival is part of a wide range of new services and opportunities offered by Metropolis as we continue to expand our reach in to all elements of the music business.’

The festival will culminate in an indie label record fair at the studio complex in Chiswick, which will open its doors for the first time to the public, giving people a rare chance to see inside the Studios that created classic tracks for Queen, Elton John, The Kills, Lana Del Ray, Adele, Amy Winehouse and the Libertines to name a tiny few. The details for the Record Fair will be announced at a later date.
