SXSW is now open for registrations - please be aware that the Early Bird registrations are only on sale until 12th September and not to late October as last year. We advise you to book early as some downtown hotels are already sold out.
SXSW Conferences and Festivals offers the unique convergence of original music, independent films, and emerging technologies. Fostering creative and professional growth alike, SXSW is the premier destination for discovery with 20,000 music delegates and 2,370+ bands showcasing from 58 countries on 100+ stages.
By day, conference registrants do business in the SXSW Trade Show in the Austin Convention Centre and partake of a full agenda of informative, provocative panel discussions featuring hundreds of speakers of international stature. In 2014 SXSW Interactive attracted 30,600+ delegates and SXSW Film 16,300+ delegates thus becoming similarly important events for the international film and interactive sectors. The British music industry participates in SXSW Music to network, to raise the profile of the organisations they represent with influential people in the US and to use SXSW to publicise and market their work.
The British Music Embassy - Lattitude 30

With the wealth of talent visiting SXSW from the UK, we are in serious danger of running out of available time and space to showcase it. This dilemma brought about the British Music Embassy initiative. It hosts all the key UK music events and is based at Latitude 30 on San Jacinto Blvd, just of 6th St. Latitude 30 effectively becomes a little piece of the UK, our Embassy and HQ for the 'live/showcase side of British Music in Austin', for the duration of the event and will be a site for promoting the British contingent. With posters, flyers, brochures, party passes, the works, the British Music Embassy will be "flying the flag" for the UK - literally.

Artist Showcase Applications Now Open & Visa Info For Showcasing Acts
SXSW have produced a showcase tipsheet with info and advice on the application process download tipsheet at the bottom of this page. Sonicbids is the exclusive online musical event submission platform of the 2015 SXSW Music Festival the link for artists to apply is http://sxsw.com/music/shows/apply. As with last year there will not be a separate international and domestic deadline. All applications must be submitted no later than 10th October 2014. If you apply by 13th September the fee is $33 and rises to $45 after this date.
SXSW are advising acts invited to showcase that are not playing any other gigs (paid or otherwise) to travel under the Visa Waiver Programme with a B visa under ESTA. This is at odds with the advice from the US Embassy in London who currently advise acts traveling to the US to showcase at events like SXSW are recommended to apply for either petition-based P or O visa (whichever is appropriate).
AIM strongly advises all AIM member labels that have acts showcasing at SXSW to consider this advice prior to making a decision. For more information on visas and to download the guides, advice sheets and other documents click here.
