In 2011 we held our fourth Women in Music and Entertainment event, and were thrilled to have Kanya King MBE – founder of The Mobo Awards and Later…With Jools Holland producer Alison Howe amongst our speakers. You can watch all the videos from the evening here.

In Conversation with Kanya King MBE, The Mobo Awards – interviewed by AIM’s Alison Wenham OBE. Kanya reveals her 4 P’s to success (passion, prioritisation, perseverence and people) – and relays her personal motto, “Don’t become bitter, get better.”

In Conversation with Alison Howe, BBC Music Entertainment – interviewed by The Guardian’s Helienne Lindvall in which she discusses starting as a secretary and working her way up to producing the most successful Glastonbury coverage ever.

The event closed with the Panel Discussion – “Closing the Music Industry Gender Gap”. Panelists include Andy Heath MBE (Uk Music / Beggars Group), Paulette Long (Westbury Music / PRS For Music), Jessica Koravos (AEG Live Europe), Marianne Frederick (Buzzin’ Fly). The panel is chaired by Alison Wenham OBE.
