Channel 4More info
We commission content from independent producers for all our channels, platforms and services. We champion new music in all our productions.
CI delivers digital content on behalf of independent labels and distributors to music services such as Spotify, iTunes/Apple, Amazon, Google/YouTube and many more.CI was founded in 2002 to fill a growing need in the music industry. The independent sector was finding it difficult to deal with the variety and complexity of digital music delivery in those early days of downloading. Our co-founders, Paul Sanders and Philip Crewdson, saw that the only way the indies would be able to access the digital market would be to pool their resources to build and maintain a technical delivery platform. This grew into CI.Over the years since, we have grown organically so that we now hold almost 2.5 million tracks on behalf of 150 clients, who collectively represent around 8000 record labels. We made 20 million track deliveries in 2015, and we manage this by having great systems – almost entirely automated so that our team can spend their time helping our clients to get the most out of their relationship with CI, working out the best way for each client to use the access to market that we enable.
