General Legal and Business Affairs Advice

AIM's Head of Legal and Busines Affairs, Michael Fuller, is happy to answer members' general queries relating to all legal and business affairs matters, including PRS and mechanicals, PPL, VPL, deals/contracts and lawyers.  AIM does not offer a full legal service and cannot offer specific contractual advice (right now!), but we can offer a lot of general advice and provide a list of lawyers that have been used by our members.

Industry Checklists, the AIM Journal and The AIM Guide

AIM offers a useful collection of short guies to signing artists, distribution, overseas licensing and other areas.  We also publish the quarterly AIM Journal; a business affairs newsletter packed with articles by industry experts, focusing on day-to-day business affairs and new media matters of concern and interest to indie labels.

Members can also find a wealth of information on the business affairs aspects of running a label in the free 'AIM Guide to Survival and Success in the Music Business'.

Legal Advice Surgery

During 2010 AIM will be introducing a new legal and business affairs Advice Surgery, from which members will be able to get free legal advice on contracts and other business affairs matters.
