Starting A Label

If you're in the early stages of setting up a label, and feel like you have a lot to learn - don't panic!  AIM can guide you through the minefield that is the music industry, giving you the advice, contacts and knowledge you need to get the ball rolling.  It's never too early to join AIM, we can help you from your very first steps.

Advice and Information

The 'AIM Guide to Survival and Success in the Music Business' is an in-depth e-book guide to everything you need to know to set up a label.  Members get this free, alternatively you can download it for £10+VAT here.

The AIM team can advise you on registering your company with Companies House, accessing finance and getting in touch with your local music development agency or creative industries support organisation.  We can also advise you on joining PPL, registering with PRS, getting distribution and everything else you need to have in place to run your label professionally.

Induction Meeting

All new members are invited to the AIM office for a free induction meeting.  During the course of your afternoon at AIM you will meet and receive advice from all members of the AIM team, meet other new labels and learn about all the services you can take advantage of as a member of AIM.  If you are a new company, this meeting is invaluable.
