Membership Criteria
To become a full member of AIM, you must be a record label, distribution company or a person or company owning rights in sound recordings.
So you might be a band or artist with your own recordings, a manager or other music business professional owning recordings, or a record label. You can join AIM at any point, whether you have had hundreds of releases or you are just getting started!
An 'independent' music company is one which is 50% or more NOT owned by a major label (EMI, Warner, SonyBMG or Universal). Your company can have deals with these labels, but you must own at least 50% of the company to meet our definition of independent.
AIM members must be based (or have representation) in the UK or Ireland. If you are a label from a different country with no UK office or representative, you should join the AIM equivalent in your country - find out who they are by visiting the Worldwide Independent Network (WIN) website: www.winformusic.org
