Music Week Women in Music Awards return for 2018 – one week left for nominations

Music Week Women in Music Awards return for 2018

The gender pay gap is in the news once again and it’s clear that, as a society, we haven’t yet reached a point of equality or true representation for women in business. However, within our own industry, we have one way we can help to demonstrate how much we value some of the ground-breaking and extraordinary women we work alongside every day.

The Music Week Women in Music Awards are back for 2018, celebrating the achievements of female executives, artists, activists and champions in and around our industry.

Having founded the awards with UK Music and Music Week, AIM has continued its partnership on the event, alongside its sister organisation WIN. This year global digital rights agency for independents, Merlin, are sponsors of the International Woman of the Year award.

The event has grown to become one of the most enjoyable in the industry calendar and is well attended by senior executives of all genders and backgrounds across the whole industry.

Entries are now open for the fifth edition of the awards, which takes place on the afternoon of Friday, November 9, at The Brewery, near The Barbican in London.

The deadline for nominations for this year’s Women in Music Awards is August 13 – be sure you don’t miss the chance to ensure that the amazing women who inspire you are recognised.

We particularly encourage the independent community and all those who love it to jump on this opportunity and nominate any women whom they feel are worthy of recognition. This is an excellent chance to show our appreciation for the work of female industry leaders and unsung heroes and we would ask that you consider particularly those who have faced a more difficult path to achieve what they have.

This year there is a new category of music creative to highlight women who often go unnoticed behind the scenes in music creation.

Full details for the criteria of each award are here and entries must be submitted online via the website.

You’ve only got a week left so get nominating!
