06/03/2009 AIM for North America 2009 - Music Trade Mission to CMU, NY and SXSW

AIM, in conjunction with UK Trade and Investment, are taking a group of 22 British music companies on ‘AIM For North America’, AIM’s fourth trade mission to North America commencing 13th March 2009. This year the mission is timed to coincide with Canadian Music Week and SXSW, enabling delegates to take advantage of the wealth of North American industry contacts that attend both of these events.

The mission enables British delegates to meet with key industry contacts and explore business opportunities. The main two-day programme in New York will include panels on Live Touring and Physical/Digital Distribution with master classes on Sync and Marketing/PR - with confirmed speakers from AEG Live, Beggars, Big Machine Media, Ioda Alliance, Koch Entertainment, Planetary, The Search Party and Zync Music. There is also an opportunity for delegates to present their music to an invited audience of US industry guests including labels, distributors, licensors, tour promoters etc.

Judith Govey, International Manager at AIM, says:

“Although the US is the biggest music market in the world it can be a difficult territory to access – the objective of running these trade missions is to provide delegates with the tools to make accessing this market a little easier.”
