13/11/2006 All AIM Members Invited to Attend the Annual Open New Media Committee Meeting

AIM's annual Open New Media Committee meeting, to be held in London on 30th November, will give member labels an essential forum in which to discuss digital music and their business.

Members will have the chance to put questions to the New Media Committee, experts in the digital music field from AIM's community, to find out about recent developments in the digital space, new deals on the horizon, AIM Digital's plans for the year ahead and so on. The event will be a highly informal session, encouraging discussion amongst all attendees with regard to successes, failures and pitfalls they have encountered whilst doing business in the digital space.

AIM's New Media Committee is made up of the digital music experts from AIM's community, and meets 10 times per year to discuss AIM Digital's activities, deals and new developments in the digital space. Chaired by Simon Wheeler of Beggars Group, they decide what AIM Digital does - from considering possible new collective deals to contributing to the organisation of events such as Music Connected. Committee members already confirmed to participate in the event include: Simon Wheeler (Beggars), Paul Sanders (state51), Dominic Jones (Pinnacle), Adrian Pope (Vital:PIAS Digital), Beth Appleton (V2), Laura Seach (Ninja Tune), Brett Leboff (Monumental Management), Matt Bristow (Cherry Red) and Michael Fuller, Lara Baker and Alison Wenham of AIM.

The event will take place in Room 3A of University of London Union (ULU) on Thursday 30th November, from 6.30pm to 8.30pm. Following the meeting, complimentary drinks will be served in the room, with the event closing at 10pm.

This event is free to members, who should email lara@musicindie.com to reserve places. Please note this is a members only event, Friends of AIM are not permitted. Places must be booked in advance.
