16/01/2007 AIM and BPI Ink GS1 Deal to Simplify Bar Coding for Indie Labels
AIM, BPI and GS1 UK have come together to launch the ‘Unique Music’ initiative that will make it easier for independent labels to get their music into stores, online and into the charts, whilst ensuring that they receive the royalties that they rightly deserve. Members of AIM are now entitled to a discount in excess of £100 towards getting GS1 UK unique numbers that can be used to create bar codes.
All AIM members will be eligible to receive the benefits of this industry initiative that will help reduce the costs of releasing music. Companies with a turnover of less than £100,000 will be eligible to join GS1 UK without having to pay a joining fee, saving over £100.
Becoming a member of GS1 UK entitles labels to a free online training course outlining how to get their music listed in charts and online and the importance of the correct identification of products. The total savings benefit waived joining fee and online training course is £150.
Members should contact AIM’s Michael Fuller on 020 8994 5599 for further information on how to take advantage of this initiative.
