01/03/2007 AIM Synch Licensing Event Links Labels With Key Music Supervisors and Creatives

AIM’s sold out synchronisation networking evening attracted key players from the worlds of film, television, advertising and games to the offices of advertising agency TBWA on February 28th.

Over 100 indie label attendees benefited from the professional wisdom of a panel of music supervisors and creatives from TBWA, Sony Computer Entertainment, RDF Media, Stream Music, AMV/ BBDO, Bucks Music Group and Working Title Films, who gave an insight into the process of selecting tracks for synchronisation, how to approach music supervisors, the types of deals available and the issues involved in licensing. The panel answered numerous questions from the audience, before playing a handful of tracks that they considered to be particularly ‘synchable’ from those submitted by label attendees.

The event offered significant networking opportunities for labels, who were able to personally pass on their music to the panelists – who have since commented on the extremely high quality of what they heard: several labels are hoping for synch deals as a direct result of attending the event.
