16/07/2007 Merlin Calls Elections For Full Board
The worldwide independent music sector has taken another step towards establishing global new media licensing agency Merlin, with the announcement of elections for the 15 available board positions.
Working closely with KPMG to finalise their operational structure, Merlin will soon be in a position to fulfill its stated remit: protecting and providing access to the global independent sector by ensuring competitive terms for new and emerging media usages of its music.
Nominations are invited from independent labels, distributors and aggregators until Friday July 27th, with the resultant board set to comprise five representatives each from North America, Europe and the Rest Of the World (ROW). The new board will be in place by Wednesday August 15th, allowing Merlin to progress with work to enhance market access and open up new revenue streams for its membership.
