23/11/2007 Labels to Discuss the Latest Digital Music Developments and Get Digital Music Advice at AIM Event

AIM's New Media Committee will be holding an Open Meeting, allowing members to question them on AIM's digital activity and get advice on digital matters.

AIM's New Media Committee is made up of the digital music experts from AIM's community, and meets 10 times per year to discuss AIM's digital activities, deals and new developments in the digital space. The committee decides what AIM does in the digital space - from lobbying digital companies to provide fair terms to indies, to contributing to the organisation of events such as Music Connected.

Once a year we hold an open meeting, where all members are invited along to discuss current digital issues with the committee and each other. You might want to discuss digital retailers and those which do/ don't work for you and other labels, new developments in the industry, what can be done to market music online, what you want AIM Digital to do for you in 2008, what Merlin is working on and so on - it is a fully interactive meeting to discuss whatever you need to.

The meeting will be chaired by Simon Wheeler of Beggars Group (the committe's Chairman), and committee panelists will include Charles Caldas of Merlin and committee members who handle digital business for some of AIM's most successful members including Ninja Tune, Cooking Vinyl, Cherry Red and Nukleuz.

The event will take place at University of London Union (ULU) at Malet Street, London on 3rd December 2007, from 6-10pm. The session will begin and end with a networking drinks reception, with the committee panel session running from 7-9pm.
