AIM CEO vows to “represent and champion the entrepreneurs that power the independent music sector”
London 15th January 2018 – Paul Pacifico, the CEO of The Association of Independent Music (AIM), which represents over 800 independent music companies in the UK has been elected to the board of the Creative Industries Federation (CIF).
The CIF is the national organisation for the UK’s creative industries, cultural education and arts, providing an authoritative voice for the fastest growing sector of the UK economy.
Spanning advertising and architecture to video games, music performance and publishing, as well as all the creative disciplines recognised in official statistics – including associated areas such as heritage – the creative industries are worth £91.8bn GVA. The creative sector also has huge intrinsic and social value.
With a membership comprised of over 1,000 companies, organisations, institutions and individual practitioners, working in every part of the creative industries – commercial and publicly-supported – as well as in the education system that supports them all, the CIF is a wholly independent body.
The board of the CIF includes top creative and business leaders and the organisation is further advised by a UK Council, representing the breadth and depth of their membership, as well as an International Council, providing a global perspective.
The CIF engages with politicians of all parties and with every level of government – from eight Whitehall departments including No 10 and the Treasury, the devolved nations, metro mayors, city leaders, LEPs and local authorities.
AIM is a trade body established in 1999 to provide a collective voice for the UK’s independent music industry AND represents over 800 member companies, from the largest and most respected labels in the World, to small start-ups and individual artists releasing their own music for the first time.
AIM promotes the independent music sector globally and provides a range of services enabling member companies to grow, grasp new opportunities and break into new markets.
